Morné is the brainchild and driving force behind GY6 GLOBAL LTD.
As a professional Security Specialist, Tactician and Strategist having served within the South-African National Police Service as a committed and dedicated Riot Squad Police Officer combined with his service as Soldier (Sergeant) within the South-African National Defence Force, Parachute Regiment (44) and having been involved in the Security Industry over the past 22 years of which 18 years as Head Doorman on some of Africa’s most notorious and unpredictable late night entertainment institutions.
I have been able to work in some of the world’s most uncomfortable and socially demanding environments within my hostile and ‘temperamental’ native continent of Africa over the past decades in both peacekeeping and specialist security roles. I have a full working knowledge and understanding of security management as a former Riot Squad Combat Officer with service in South-Africa’s well documented specialist mobile riot squad better known as Unit 19 also known as The Brave Thousand.
I have a vast amount of experience in my previous role within the S.A Police Force and Defence Force and often utilise my skills from this to any task I have to undertake. I have extensive experience in conflict management, physical intervention, incident management, crime scene management and golden hour principles having dealt with many critical incidents being first person at scene. Communication skills as a leader, soft personal skills, personnel developer, project manager, delivering measurable results under EXTREME and complex timelines/conditions.
“I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go. And did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness, should I fail. I have seen the face of terror, felt the cold sting of fear, and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment of love. I have cried, pained and hoped, but most of all I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say I was proud of the fact that I was a Special Soldier.”
